multiple ways to style a dress

I am working towards curating a more selective closet, full of versatile pieces that I can easily mix and match with a select few accessories for lots of different looks. I love a good statement outfit, don’t get me wrong, but I’ve started sewing more items I don’t need a special occasion to wear. I’m in love with the Charleston for multi-styling applications like this, because of the classic simplicity of the silhouette. The looser fit gives it a touch of a casual feel, making it perfect for every day wear that I can feel comfortable in. The high low hem adds just enough fanciness that it is easy to dress up as well!

While there are many ways to style this dress, below are just some ways I would wear it. A variety of scarves and handful of boots and you have quite a collection of looks from just one dress! Here I tried two looks with the same dress, leggings, and boots.

Of course a couple of scarf looks are in order as we head into fall…

And lastly, 2 waist alterations for a super easy-wearing casual feel.

If you don’t already have the Charleston dress, I highly recommend it as a fantastic transitional pattern for any season. As we’re heading into fall, I used a slightly heavier fabric, a gorgeous copper cotton interlock from Fabric Fairy, though you can just as easily use a lighter fabric like bamboo or ITY for those hotter summer months!

Thanks for joining me today, happy crafting!

All the best,

Sonia from MamasCraftRoom
